Heavy rainfall, hail and strong winds caused problems in several Nicosia districts today. The Fire Brigade responded to over 80 calls from people whose property had flooded and from drivers who became stranded in their cars where roads had flooded. The bad weather also caused a number of minor traffic accidents when drivers lost control of their vehicles. Civil defence and emergency services personnel were also called out to answer distress calls.
The heavy weather is expected continue until Wednesday. Meteorologist are predicting further drop in temperatures
