The Council of Ministers has reaffirmed its support to actions that will ensure that Pafos 2017 is a successful European Capital of Culture, with the total amount of €5,000,000.
According to a press release, Wednesday`s decision came after a recommendation by the Ministry of Education and Culture, which consulted with `Pafos 2017`.
According to the decision, in 2015 the organisation will receive €1,350,000, in 2016 €2,000,000 and in 2017 €1,000,000.
`Pafos 2017` has already received €150,000 in 2013, while for 2014 it will receive a total of €500,000.
The grant can be used to cover operational expenses and fund cultural programmes organised in the framework of the European Capital of Culture.
