A fire blazed for five hours through an industrial estate in Edmonton this morning.
About 100 firefighters, called from fire stations across north and east London, tackled the blaze in the industrial warehouses in Advent Way, Edmonton, from just after 3am.
The flames were under control by 8am – but fire crews remain at the scene to dampen down hot spots and make sure no deep seated pockets of fire remain.
Fire station manager of Silver Town, Newham, John Tovey said: “Fortunately the buildings affected are located on an industrial estate and are well away from any residential properties.
“The industrial estate is also close to the busy North Circular Road but thankfully the fire didn’t affect any major roads in the area.”
