Enfield Labour has today launched its manifesto for the 2026 local elections at an event in Edmonton.
Fresh from delivering Enfield’s first no frontline cuts budget since 2010, the manifesto sets out an ambitious vision for the borough over the next four years.
Among the eye-catching pledges is the introduction of weekly recycling collections, made possible by more than £200 million in additional funding Enfield will receive over the next three years.
The manifesto also commits to expanding popular projects introduced over the last year, including park safety patrols, which will be extended to cover high streets and roads around schools.
Local families, young people, businesses, community groups, schools, parks and high streets will all benefit from Labour’s plans. These include school safety patrols, 30 minutes free parking, investment in parks, new council homes on golf courses, and more genuinely affordable family-sized homes.
Enfield Labour has also set out its vision for the proposed New Town at Crews Hill, making clear that development must be “infrastructure first”. The plans include a “first dibs” policy for first-time buyers currently living in Enfield who are looking to buy affordable homes in the new development.
The manifesto also reiterates Labour’s campaign to reopen the Accident and Emergency Department at Chase Farm Hospital, which was closed by the Conservatives over a decade ago.
Launching the manifesto, Cleaner, Safer, Affordable, Cllr Ergin Erbil, Leader of Enfield Council, said:
“I am delighted to launch this manifesto for Enfield’s future and would like to thank the residents, members and supporters who helped shape it.
Only Enfield Labour has a realistic and deliverable plan for our borough. While we have not yet seen the manifestos of all the other parties, it is already clear that their proposals would take Enfield backwards with damaging cuts. When they are not making promises they cannot keep, they are borrowing our policies.
Our manifesto is only possible thanks to the £200 million of additional investment we have secured for Enfield through a Labour government. That is the clear choice at this election. £200 million of investment with Labour, or a return to cuts under the Conservatives and Reform.
We are building on everything we have achieved together since 2010 and setting out an ambitious plan for the future.
Together, let’s build a cleaner, safer and more affordable Enfield for everyone.”
