A series of actions for young people from the Greek Cypriot and the Turkish Cypriot communities are being organised by the European Parliament Office and the European Commission Representation in Nicosia.
According to a press release, the aim of the programme is to bring the youth of the two communities closer to the principles and values of the EU and promote peaceful co-existence on the island.
The first action includes three workshops on communication for peace, conflict resolution and building peace, examples from around the world and structured dialogue.
The workshops will be held in Limassol on 9th October, in Nicosia on the 5th November and in Famagusta on the 26th of November.
The second phase of the programme includes three public events which will be open to the public with translation into English, Greek and Turkish. The events will deal with sports (in Larnaca), career consultancy (Nicosia) and training, again in Nicosia.
Three cultural visits will take place throughout Cyprus to help young people become acquainted with the cultural monuments of each community. The visits will include guides. They will take place in Famagusta, 11 September, in Limassol, on the 25th September and in Nicosia on 23 October
