A firearm concealed in a pizza box, two knives and a haul of Class A drugs were seized as part of a two day County Lines Taskforce operation held across Kent last week in partnership with Kent Police.
Officers from the elite taskforce disrupted drugs supply across the county when they deployed at stations making multiple arrests.
Eight people were arrested as part of the swoop for drug offences.
In one stand out incident officers spotted a teenager acting suspiciously as he approached the station.
They gave chase and once detained he was searched and found with a quantity of cannabis and cash.
The 16-year-old was subsequently arrested for possession with intent to supply Class B drugs but it was during a search of his bedroom that officers discovered a firearm hidden inside a pizza box as well as a quantity of cocaine.
He was charged with possession of a firearm, being concerned in the supply of cocaine and being concerned in the supply of cannabis.
Three others were subsequently charged:
Edward Kpakra, aged 24, of Lower Road, Belvedere and Matthew Simon, aged 28, of Knights Manor Way, Dartford were both charged with possession of a bladed article.
Kelly Aghedo, aged 18, of Latham Road, Bexleyheath was charged with being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs
British Transport Police Detective Inspector Ian Henderson who led the operation said: “This was yet another success story for the public who use the railway and the communities they live in with dangerous weapons taken off the streets as well as a substantial haul of drugs.
“The expertise of our County Lines Taskforce working in partnership with local police forces ensures that our resources are targeted to areas where individuals peddle drugs and weapons on the rail network.
“This was a high visibility deployment to deter and disrupt criminality on the railway but we work around the clock, day in, day out across the country. You don’t have to see us to know that we’re there.”
