Four Thomson Airways stewards ended up in Larnaca General Hospital on Wednesday night after the flight they were traveling on hit severe turbulence just shy of Cyprus.
The plane – which was carrying over 300 passengers and ten crew members from Manchester – flew into a storm as it approached Cyprus resulting in the aircraft enduring severe turbulence. Such was the force of the shaking that some of the stewards were hurled onto the roof of the cabin.
The four Britons were taken by ambulance to Larnaca General Hospital where two received first aid treatment and were later released while two were kept overnight.
Hospital doctors have confirmed that a 60-year-old suffered back injuries while a woman of 50 had injured her neck.
The plane returned back to Manchester in the early hours of Thursday morning.
