From jewellery making and music concerts to fitness sessions and parties, Hertsmere is providing funding for all kinds of events for the 65s and over in support of Older People’s Day and Silver Sunday.
This year, 1 October marks both Older People’s Day and Silver Sunday champion the achievements and contributions that older people make to society and the economy by providing a variety of free activities for older people.
To support both occasions, we are pleased to announce that we have grants of up to £300 available for community groups and voluntary organisations to hold events or arrange trips between 28 September and 4 October 2017. The grants are available for residents aged 65 or over and can be used for a range of activities from social events to sporting activities.
Councillor Caroline Clapper, Portfolio Holder for Leisure, Culture and Health said: “Following on from the success of the events we helped fund last year for Older People’s Day and Silver Sunday, we are really pleased to be able to offer financial support again this year.
“With these grants organisations will be able to put on successful events that older people in our communities will enjoy and benefit from.”
