Global Sumud Flotilla boat remains in Kato Paphos harbour

The ship “Vivy Sabre”, which participated in the international Global Sumud Flotilla, remains anchored in the harbour of Kato Paphos on Thursday morning, while crew members await instructions for its departure.

The “Vivy Sabre”, which participated in the Global Sumud Flotilla flotilla with the aim of transporting humanitarian aid to Gaza, arrived in the harbour of Paphos shortly after midnight on Monday. The crew had set sail from a port in Sicily, and traveled to Marmaris on the coast of Asia Minor.

The Cyprus News Agency (CNA) has learnt that three of the ship’s crew members, who participated in the humanitarian aid transport mission to Gaza, have left.

Specifically, two of the three Italians on board the ship returned to their country by plane on Tuesday night, while the third went to Limassol.

The other three passengers, a Spaniard, a Moroccan and a Mexican, remain on board at the moment, awaiting instructions regarding the ship’s departure.

In the meantime, several party delegations visited the ship “Vivy Sabre”, delivering food and water to the ship’s passengers and expressing their solidarity with the humanitarian mission and the Palestinian people.
