Greece has decided to take part in the international coalition’s operations against the Islamic State (ISIS) fighters.
This involvement, as announced by the Greek Foreign Ministry, will be twofold: On a political level, through humanitarian aid, and on a military level by providing ammunition to the Kurdish forces fighting the jihadists.
Greece’s military participation, the Foreign Ministry says, was decided after “a relevant suggestion by the Ministry of Defense and, in particular, by the Headquarters of the Armed Forces”.
