PAOK and Panathinaikos have mathematically qualified to the Europa League playoffs thanks to their results on Thursday, with one game to spare.
PAOK won 2-0 in Thessaloniki against a depleted Real Betis whose manager rested some of its key players.
The Greeks were the better team in the 90 minutes and deserved victory that has even given them a chance to make the top eight next week.
Halfway through the second half PAOK scored a beautiful goal, as its players passed the ball five times inside the Betis box until a cross from the left by Giorgos Giakoumakis was met by Andrija Zivkovic who headed the ball home to open the score.
Then, Giannis Konstantelias earned a penalty on the 83rd minute and Giakoumakis took it three minutes later to seal victory for PAOK.
The result meant PAOK has reached 12 points from seven games. Its last one in the group phase will be against Lyon in France next Thursday.
Panathinaikos snatched a 1-1 draw at Ferencvaros in a result that not only sees the Athens giant through to the next round but also changes its atmosphere after the 4-0 loss at AEK on Sunday.
Facundo Pellistri tore the Hungarian defense several times in the first half, but was unable to find the back of the net.
While Panathinaikos missed chance after chance, at the other end a slip and handball by Erik Palmer-Brown gave Ferencvaros a penalty kick that Bamidele Yusuf converted on the 61st minute.
However, substitute Anass Zaroury punished the Hungarians five minutes from the end with his left-foot banger that leveled the score.
The Greens have risen to 11 points and will host AS Roma in Athens next Thursday.
