Bookings over the weekend were “quite encouraging” and for the next long weekend of Green Monday they seem to be equally good, the Director of the Cyprus Hotel Association (PASYXE), Christos Angelides, told the Cyprus News Agency (CNA) on Monday.
Asked how the hotel industry performed over the past two days and how the three-day period of Green Monday is expected to do, Angelides said that “based on our information the bookings we had were quite encouraging for the past three days.”
For the next three-day period, Angelides continued, bookings seem to be equally good.
“Judging from the information we have, starting from Friday, Saturday and Sunday, several hotels will also provide organised menus for Green Monday, so this is also an enticement for customers to remain within the premises or gardens of the hotels,” he noted.
Asked if Cypriot hoteliers are generally happy with the hotel bookings so far in 2026, Angelides said that no one can be happy with the reservations of 25% and 30%, “but this is what we mean when we say that we have to build.”
“I think we are on the right track, flights to Cyprus have also increased from smaller countries such as Armenia, Romania, Bulgaria, Latvia, Poland, and there is also a steady flow from the United Kingdom and Israel, as we are also seeing a slight growth from Germany, which is also encouraging,” he noted.
