Police in Ayia Napa have arrested a Bulgarian man after a high-speed chase in the holiday resort.
According to arresting offices, the 20-year-old Bulgarian refused to stop his speeding vehicle when he was flagged down resulting in a high-speed chase through Ayia Napa.
The man’s car eventually came to a stop just shy of Sotira village when careened into a ditch. Police had previous fired warning shots.
Police found two knives in his possession while he was also did not have a valid driving license, insurance or road tax.
He was charged before being later released and will appear at the Famagusta District Court at a later date.
