Key dates to note as two by-elections called in Haringey

Residents in two parts of the borough will be heading to the polls as by-elections have been called in Northumberland Park and Woodside wards following the recent borough-wide local elections.

Both by-elections will take place on Thursday 25 June 2026.

Those wanting to stand for election should submit their nomination papers by 4pm on Friday 29 May 2026.

Other key deadlines to note include:

  • Deadline to register to vote in the elections: 11.59pm, Tuesday 9 June 2026
  • Deadline to apply for a postal vote: 5pm, Wednesday 10 June 2026
  • Deadline to apply for a normal proxy vote: 5pm, Wednesday 10 June 2026
  • Deadline to apply for a Voter Authority Certificate (if you don’t have an accepted form of photo ID to use in a polling station): 5pm, Wednesday 17 June 2026
