First Division
Livadia 6 KLN 1
Livadia started brightly and quickly went 1-0 up with a blaster of a goal from Elia Katsoloudi after 15 minutes played. Within 10 minutes KLN equalised from a corner to make it 1-1 with a headed goal from Chris Papacosta.
After the break KLN just fell apart and allowed Livadia to push on and soon Andy Evangelou pounced on a stray back pass to make the score 2-1. Livadia continued their possession and were rewarded with a fine individual goal from Samir on his debut to make it 3-1. Samir also set up Andy Evangelou next goal unselfishly squaring the ball for a simple tap in to make it 4-1. Andy Evangelou completed his hatrick benefiting from a shot that hit the post from Elia Katsoloudi and fell to him to make it 5-1.
Samir got the 6th goal with a fine header from a huge goal kick from Livadia goalkeeper Matt Demetriades.
Apoel 3 Cetinkaya Cinar 0
Apoel claimed their first win of the season with Andy Fellahoudi back to assist their manager Chris Zacharia. The game started on a even par with Apoel eventually breaking the ice with a cracking goal from outside the box Jermaine Francis who added a second minutes later.
Cetinkaya Cinar tried to get back into the game and pressured the Apoel rearguard but the Apoel goalkeeper Ashley Harris pulled off some great saves.
The final goal came with ten minutes to go when a cross from the right was met by George Costa to tap it into the back of the net to give Apoel a 3-0 win.
Brotherhood 8 Maronites 1
Brotherhood are full of confidence at the moment and pushing for a top spot after beating the Maronites. Brotherhood’s goals came from Aaron Kennedy 3, Josh 3, Mark Doyle and Chris Antony.
Maronites lone goal was scored by Selch Ulug.
Second Division
Arachne 1 St Panteleimon 2
A terrific match played with great spirit by two very committed teams. St. Panteleimon, keen to bounce back from their disappointing performance last week, started quickly and were very impressive in possession with their midfield dictating the pace of the game and the impressive Costas Mina stamping his authority on the heart of the midfield.
Arachne, very well organised defensively, we’re finding it hard to keep the ball as the Saints were incredibly quick to pressure their opponents high up the pitch. On 25 minutes, it was this pressure that paid dividends for the Saints when the returning Michael Frangeskou showed tremendous tenacity winning consecutive challenges to create the opportunity for Kristian Neziri to open the scoring with a fine finish. The second half saw both teams start well however a sublime pass from Reece Pascal split the Arachne defence and found Nikos Salapatas who curled a beauty beyond the oncoming keeper. Arachne continued to battle admirably and took advantage of a defensive lapse from the Saints to make it 1-2 with a goal from Lorenzo Toumazos..
Arachne continued to push the visitors back in the last 20 minutes and applied very strong pressure however the Saints, through the outstanding Andreas Plastiras, showed great defensive organisation and return to winning ways.
Pantel 3 Asha 1
Pantel are buzzing at the moment with two wins on the trot after last week’s win over St Panteleimon and now beating Asha.
Pantel scored first with a Jonjo Walsh header from a free kick Asha equalised with a goal from Andy Nicholas and the game was equal at this time and it looked like it could go either way.
Pantel increased their lead with a goal from Liam Desprit. Then it became all out action with Pantel missing several chances but on edge, as at the same time Asha were very dangerous on the break.
So right at the end Pantel were very relieved when they scored with a goal from Marley Martin to give them a 3-1 win.
