First Division
Anorthosis put one hand on the league trophy by beating Olympia 4-0 but it was not an easy game as the score suggests.
The first half finished 0 0 with both teams having their share of chances.
In the Second half a penalty was awarded to Anorthosis and Elia was given a red card for handball changed the game. Anorthosis missed after a great save by Ugur and Anorthosis scored on the rebound.
Even Going down to 10 men Olympia played very well and hit the crossbar the twice.
Even when Anorthosis made it 2-0 Olympia kept playing and pushing forward and Anorthosis subdued them by scoring two goals in the last five minutes to win the game and to pushy for champion spot. Anorthosis goals came from Adem Ali and Andre McCollins.
Komi FC Power to beat Achna 7-0. A comfortable victory for Komi Kebir FC vs Achna on a bright sunny morning. Good turnout too of supporters too. Komi raced to a 3 goal lead through George Demosthenous 2 who was excellent and Antony Georgiou. Con Michael made it 4-0. In the second half further goals came from the prolific Antony Georgiou (Hat trick) & Marino Kyriakou.
Second Division
The top of the table second division clash between first placed Panathinaikos and second placed Cinar This game was a must win game fo both teams to take the advantage over the rest for the league title.
Cinar started the stronger using their aerial height to their advantage. Pao never got into their rhythm and were not allowed to play the football that they are known to do.
30 minutes in and Cinar got a corner, they headed onto the crossbar and tapped it in at the far post scored by Salih Karakis.
End to end from both teams but no outcome until one minute before the break Cinar got a free kick and from outside the box, a perfectly waited shot from Cullen French flew into.the top right hand corner making it 2 – 0 ,
Panathinaikos came out of the break and looked like a completely different team.
They upped the tempo of the game and managed to pin Cinar back into their half. It took 15minutes to break Cinar down with Andy Evangelou scoring to start the comeback. 2-1.
Cinar we holding tight at the back and Panathinaikos kept on pressing to try and get the equaliser, it arrived in the 75th minute with Zack squaring the ball to Dylan to tap in. 2-2.
The two teams Akanthou and Pantel holding the two bottom spots gave an exciting game with Akanthou leading 2-0 both goals scored by Aristos Aristotelous Pantel came back to draw 2-2 with their goals coming from Liam and Toti.
