Larnaca bank robbery

A branch of the Konteas Co-op Bank in Dromolaxia was held up on Friday by an armed gunman who made away with €20,000.
Speaking to the media, Deputy Larnaca Police Chief Christakis Papademetriou said the masked perpetrator stormed into the bank at around 1pm.
He turned a handgun on the three bank employees and ordered them, in broken English, to hand over cash. Once he had the money, he exited the building and was last seen making his escape on foot.
Papademetriou said the robber is of average build, around 185cm tall and was wearing a long-sleeved t-shirt and Bermuda shorts during the heist.
Investigators believe the handgun used was a replica and are currently examining CCTV footage of the robbery in an attempt to identify the robber.
