Police on Saturday were investigating a possible petrol scam where electronic systems were programmed in such a way that customers were getting less petrol than what they would pay for.
A 28-year-old manager of a Larnaca petrol station has been remanded in custody for six days in connection with the case. His brother who is managing a petrol station in Nicosia is also being questioned by police.
Investigators said the station in Lanraca which got into operation in May 2011 is now checked to see if the pumps have been modified and installed with a device that reduces the flow of fuel by 5%.
