On Sunday 1st November 2015, the annual Welsh Hairdressing Awards were held at the Angel Hotel in Cardiff.
Greek Cypriot owned Lazarou Brother Hair Group entered the awards and won the NHF Welsh Barber Of The Year 2015 category.
Lazarou Brothers Hair Group will be celebrating 50 years in business in February 2016. Formed in 1966 by 7 brothers and 1 sister, the first salon opened in Riverside, Cardiff. The unisex salons began to expand in the 70’s with the opening of their first city centre salon, shortly followed by the first out of Cardiff salon opened in Caerphilly. Expansion continued in the 80’s & 90’s with the opening of several further locations throughout Cardiff and its surrounding areas.
A generation on, their children also manage and take active parts in the business, running a total of 10 salons in and around Cardiff and South Wales, and as a family and brand they are expanding.
Picking up the award was Tino Lazarou, 33, who followed in the footsteps of his father Mr Jimmy (Demetris) Lazarou and has been a men’s stylist/barber since the age of 16.
Tino has a very cosmopolitan clientele having built up a reputation for over 48 years in Afro & European hair, modern day & traditional hairstyling.
