A 31-year-old woman from Paphos has died from complications after giving birth by Caesarean section at Limassol General Hospital.
On Friday morning Joanne Nicholas gave birth to a healthy baby boy in a private clinic in Paphos, but immediately after the birth by Caesarean section she suffered serious complications.
She was originally rushed to Paphos General Hospita for treatment, but due to the severity of her condition she was transferred to Limassol General Hospital where she died at around 11pm.
The exact cause of death will be ascertained after the autopsy, which will take place on Sunday or Monday by coroner Nicholas Charalambous.
The relatives of the unfortunate woman have also called for an investigation to be carried out to determine the cause of her death
