Man arrested for throwing rocks at Turkish military guard post in buffer zone

A 26-year-old man was arrested by Sovereign Base Area (SBA) police on Wednesday after he allegedly entered the Buffer Zone near Avgorou village and threw rocks at a Turkish military guard post.
According to the police, SBA authorities were alerted by a concerned relative who said the man crept into the Buffer Zone with the intention of provoking the occupying forces. The suspect reportedly began cursing and throwing rocks at soldiers at a nearby guard post.
Police said the man suffers from a severe psychological condition. After his arrest he was admitted to a psychiatric clinic for treatment.
