British diplomat Matthew Kidd will serve again as his country’s High Commissioner to Cyprus, according to CNA sources, after Ric Todd, holding the post since 2014, left, due to personal reasons.
Replying to a question by CNA, a UK High Commission spokesperson said that “British High Commissioner Ric Todd has left his post because of personal reasons. A process is currently underway to appoint a new High Commissioner.”
CNA has learned that Kidd will take over the post, which he also held from May 2010 to August 2014. He was succeeded by Todd, who presented his credentials to President Nicos Anastasiades in September 2014.
Kidd is expected to present his credentials to President Anastasiades soon.
