Cyprus Foreign Ministry is in contact with the Cypriot passenger on Ryanair flight FR4978, that was forced to land in Minsk. Nicosia has denounced Belarus` actions, which, as it notes, jeopardize civil aviation safety and calls for Roman Protasevich`s immediate release.
The Foreign Ministry said in a tweet on Monday morning that “we are in contact with the Cypriot passenger on #Ryanair flight #FR4978 that was forced to land in Minsk. We reiterate that we strongly denounce Belaru`s actions which jeopardize the civil aviation safety & we call for the immediate release of #RomanProtasevich”.
In another tweet on Sunday evening, the Foreign Ministry said that Foreign Minister, Nikos Christodoulides, talked with his Lithuanian counterpart Gabrielius Landsbergis, who briefed him on the situation after the landing in Vilnius of the Ryanair aircraft, that was forced earlier to land in Minsk.
