A nine year old boy died tragically in a road traffic accident at 10.30 pm on the Kyrenia bypass in the occupied part of Cyprus on New Year’s Eve.
His mother who was speeding, lost control of the vehicle and veered towards the road’s edge, colliding with a pole.
Young İlayda Özyıldız, who was seated in the back, on impact, was thrown through the rear screen window to his death, after striking his head on a concrete wall.
The driver and other adult passenger escaped with minor injuries.
