Olympiacos U12s booked their place in the Spring Cup Final with a hard fought victory in their semi final.
The team dominated possession from the kick off but after failing to convert their chances Edmonton Eagles took the lead with their first attempt at goal. Olympiacos heads did not go down, if anything, they raised their game and equalised with a blatant penalty when Jonathan was pulled back in the area when clean through on goal. He duly picked himself up and put his spot kick away.
The second half started the same as the first with Olympiacos pinning the opposition into their half except this time Aaron finished off an excellent team passing movement by side stepping the defender and placing the ball into the back of the net and his team 2-1 up. The team continued dominating but could not convert their chances. The referee gave a free kick to the opponents 25 yards out that no one could understand, however, it caught out Jon in goal and the teams were level again. The domination continued with Olympiacos spurning chances and after extra time the game went to penalties. It was time for our goalkeeper, Jon Sadiku, to be a hero and what a way to do it, he saved three penalties putting his team through to the final. The celebrations showed how much the boys have bonded and no one could get close to them as they lifted Jon into the air. This was an amazing team performance and the boys got exactly what they deserved.
