On Sunday 5th July, community football club Omonia Youth FC, held their annual presentation day. All managers and team coaches of the 24 clubs invited their players to celebrate a year of success. Every footballer received a trophy emblazoned with the club crest to acknowledge their participation in the 2014/15 season.
There were also specific awards recognising each team’s top goal scorer, the manager’s player of the season, the players’ player of the season and most clean sheets within an age group.
Blessed with glorious sunshine, families made the most of the day mingling with each other, benefiting from the food available (souvlakia of course!) and seeing their children enjoying the day.
The event was superbly organised and managed by Chairman Elia Constatni and Vice-Chair Kyri Georgiou along with the rest of the Omonia Youth FC Committee.
Omonia Youth FC was founded in 1994, and with 24 teams in all age groups is a flourishing community football club with a fine tradition for providing a positive environment for all young footballers to develop their football education within a setting where they can also mature as individuals and as groups.
