Cyprus Police reported 119 individuals and 4 establishment owners for violating protective measures aiming to contain the spread of COVID-19.
A Police spokesperson told CNA that in the last 24 hours ending on 06:00 local time Saturday, the Force carried out 11,160 checks throughout the island.
In Nicosia the Police carried out 2,032 checks reporting 23 individuals, in Limassol 2,895 checks were carried out with 39 individuals and 4 establishment owners reported, in Larnaca 1,905 checks were made with 23 individuals reported and in Pafos 19 citizens were reported following 1,340 checks.
In Famagusta, the Police carried out 1,509 checks with 14 individuals reported, in Morphou the Police carried out 798 checks with no reports. The Traffic Department carried out 621 checks with 1 individual reported, whereas the Police Rapid Response Unit and Port and Marine Police carried out 16 and 44 checks respectively with no fines issued.
