The Production Index in construction for the fourth quarter of 2011 reached 79.8 units (base year 2005=100.0), recording a decrease of 12.6% over the fourth quarter of 2010.
According to an official announcement, comparing the fourth quarter of 2011 to the corresponding quarter of 2010 for the component indices, it is observed that the Production Index for Buildings recorded a decrease of 11.0% and the Production Index for Civil Engineering of 16.2%.
On a yearly basis, the overall index for 2011 registered a decline of 9.5% over 2010. For the component indices, a drop of 13.5% was recorded in the Production Index for Buildings while an increase of 2.2% was recorded in the Production Index for Civil Engineering.
