SPASTA dance sirtaki with Evangelia in iconic Syntagma Square

Greek singer Evangelia continued her viral trend of dancing sirtaki to her latest single Parea, this time inviting the Spasta Greek Dance group to join her in the iconic Syntagma Square.
The busy square transformed into an open-air stage as the London-based dance group – visiting Athens to celebrate their one-year anniversary – performed choreography inspired by traditional Greek dance, infused with a modern twist.
Dressed in a striking red dress, Evangelia blended seamlessly with the dancers. Their synchronized footwork and expressive formations captured the spirit of togetherness that Parea represents – “parea” meaning a close-knit group of friends or community.
Locals and tourists stopped to watch, with some even joining in the rhythm, adding to the vibrant atmosphere.
The contrast between the historic setting and contemporary music and dance created a visually compelling moment – one that honours Greece’s past while embracing its evolving cultural identity.
Well done to Evangelia and her parea, Spasta, who are fast becoming the UK’s favourite Greek dance group.
