St Andrews has Talent

On Friday 23rd March 2018, St Andrew the Apostle Greek Orthodox School held their Annual Talent Show at The Intimate Theatre, Palmers Green.

The annual event has become a key date in the school’s diary since its opening in 2013 and is organised by Head of Performing Arts, Kostas Lasithiotakis.

The event promotes and celebrates the amazing and diverse talent amongst its students and staff, and this year was no exception. Judges on the night were LGR presenter Paris Tsoulfas, Comic writer Jonny Sweet and well known singer-songwriter Elizabeth Chapman from the Greek band Midas Touch. The event was hosted by Year 11 students Helena Pattichis, Taniya Jamil and Maria Georgiou.

With students from each year group taking part, the winner of the talent was Enkeleda Skiada with her amazing performance of Adele’s hit Send My Love. Runner up was Christy Bailey with the song Never Enough, and third place went to Margaryta Bilerozova with an immaculate ballet performance.

Mr Michael, Deputy Headteacher, was full of praise for the students. “It is events like this that allows us as a school to showcase the outstanding talent we have amongst our students. All the performers were of the highest calibre and it demonstrates the high standards we have as a school. Some of the performers tonight really have star quality.”

A special thanks to the sponsors of the event – Brunswick Garage, Clearly Clean, Orexis Foods and Friends of St Andrew (FoSA).

St Andrew the Apostle Greek Orthodox School is situated in the North London Business Park and will be opening a sixth form in September 2018. Visit www.standrewtheapostle.org.uk for more information.
