The London office of the Cyprus Deputy Ministry of Tourism organised a Summer Soiree event on Wednesday 3 July at the Cyprus High Commission in St James’s Square.
The informal evening was attended by tourism partners, journalists and bloggers and was graced by the presence of the Cyprus High Commissioner in the UK Mr Kyriakos Kouros and Deputy High Commissioner Mr Spyros Miltiadis.
The event celebrated all things Cypriot, with great emphasis on gastronomy and traditional flavours, Cypriot wines, music and culture.
Representatives of the Deputy Tourism Ministry, Costas Katsellis, Meeta Tailor and Tania Peck, thanked those present for their continuous support in the promotion of Cyprus and urged them to continue with the same dedication and zeal.
A short promo video of our beautiful island was also presented.
Throughout the evening, delicious savoury canapes and sweet treats were served, as well as exquisite wines, the famous KEO beer and even bespoke cocktails created with authentic Cypriot ingredients, including Zivania and Commandaria, the oldest named wine in the world, described by King Richard the Lionheart of England as “the wine of kings and the king of wines.”
There was music by two excellent Cypriot musicians, electric violinist Petros ‘Stringz’ and Konstantinos on guitar, plus a fabulous draw with prizes including stays at some of the top hotels in Cyprus.
Invited guests left with a luxury goodie bag which included, among other things, bottles of olive oil and Commandaria.
