Total Lunar Eclipse on the evening of Sunday September 7th 2025, will be entirely visible from Cyprus during it’s main stages, Troodos Observatory notes, announcing that an eclipse observation event will take place at the observatory. Events will be posted on www.troodosobservatory.com and on social media.
On September 7th, the Moon will rise at 18:59 whilst the early penumbral eclipse stage is underway. This stage is hardly visible to the unaided eye. At 19:28 the Moon begins to enter the Earth’s shadow, signaling the start of the partial eclipse stage.
At 20:30 the Moon becomes completely covered by the Earth’s shadow and shines with it’s characteristic deep red/brown color during the total eclipse stage. At 21:12 whilst the Moon is at 24 ˚ altitude in the eastern sky totality occurs and the phenomenon reaches it’s maximum.
At 21:52 the Moon begins to exit the main part of the Earth’s shadow and approximately 1 hour later the penumbral exit phase begins. The phenomenon ends on 23:55 with the Moon at 47 ˚ in the southeastern sky.
