Cypriot teams had an excellent performance in the third qualifying round of European competitions on Thursday, with AEK Larnaca and Omonia Nicosia securing great wins and Aris Limassol earning a valuable draw.
AEK Larnaca defeated Legia Warsaw 4-1 at home, putting themselves in a strong position for the Europa League play-offs and securing at least a spot in the Phase League of the Conference League.
Omonia followed up their 4-0 win in Georgia with another 4-0 victory against Araz in Baku, effectively sealing their place in the Conference League play-offs ahead of next week’s second leg in Nicosia.
Aris came from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 with AEK Athens at Alphamega Stadium in the framework of the first leg of Third Qualifying Round of Conference League. The second leg in Athens will determine who progresses to the next round.
With Pafos FC also winning earlier this week, it has been a highly successful round for Cypriot clubs in Europe.
