Remarks attributed to Ambassador Kathleen A. Doherty at the Embassy’s annual reception in Nicosia, on November 5 are false, the US Embassy says in an announcement issued Monday.
“Neither the American Ambassador, nor any other American diplomat present, made any statement regarding the Turkish military. The U.S. Embassy rejects in the strongest terms the false attribution and incorrect reporting by the media. The U.S. Embassy strongly reaffirms that its policy toward Cyprus remains unchanged”, the announcement says.
