We sadly announce that UK Cypriot Anna Toufexis has passed away

Death Announcement
Anna Toufexis
August 1932 – 13th February 2021
Born Lythrodondas, passed Camden, London
It is with deep sadness and a heavy broken heart we announce the passing of our dearly beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, auntie and friend, at the age of 88 years old.
Anna was born in Lythrodondas, Nicosia on 4th August 1932 to Harridos and Maria Livitia. Both from Lythrodondas. Anna was the third born child out of seven; three sisters and 4 brothers.
There was 25 years between the first born and the last born children. Her two oldest siblings Kyriakou and Andreas sadly passed away; Andreas sadly passed away two weeks before mum.
Mum worked full time in the fields from a very young age of 11 years old, but would have preferred to have stayed at school.
When Anna was 20 years old, she married our dad Nikolas Toufexis also from Lythrodondas in April 1953. Nikolas sadly passed away suddenly on 13th November 1989.
Nikolas served in World War 2 and worked as a waiter in London in many restaurants in West End. Nikolas won the waiters race in 1950’s, as he was very athletic.
Nikolas was already in England but came back to Cyprus and took a liking to Anna and they got married and came to England together.
When in London they mostly lived around Camden Town and surrounding areas most of their lives. In the 1960’s they managed a fish and chip shop in Liverpool, but after one year they went back to Cyprus to try and make a life back in the village of Lythrodondas, somehow Camden, London called them back.
Anna had her sister in laws and brother in law nearby, as well as friends from the village, as all her siblings remained in Cyprus.
Anna devoted her life to looking after her children, she had four children all under the age of five years old, and her 5th child came along much later.
Anna was a very sweet, kind, loving and thoughtful person. She was loved by all and will be missed by all.
She leaves behind 5 children, Savvas, Harrido, Bitsa, Mary and Rena. Mum was widowed in 1989, when our dad Nikolas sadly left us all too soon.
She also leaves behind her two daughter in laws Elena and Pantelitsa, three sons in law, Ken, Roger who sadly left us in 2018 and Mick.
She leaves behind her six grandchildren, Anna, Nicolas, Irini, Anna, Andrea, and Thomas.
She also leaves behind her four great grandchildren Sophia, Raphael, Nikolas and Elena.
She leaves behind her siblings and family in Cyprus.
Forever in our hearts.
Her funeral will be held on Tuesday 6th April at 12.30pm at All Saints Church, Camden Town and she will be laid to rest at Ayia Sophia, New Southgate Cemetery.
Due to current Covid Restrictions only close family are permitted.
