† DEATH ANNOUNCEMENT – FUNERAL
Elli Georgiou
(From Yialousa, Cyprus)
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mum Elli Georgiou, who died at home on 26th February 2026, at the age of 88.
She leaves behind her sons George, Kyriacos, Andreas and Panikos, her daughters-in-law and 9 grandchildren.
Elli was born in Cyprus, Yialousa on the 18th January 1938,one of six siblings. She emigrated to England in 1957 first residing in West London before eventually settling in North London.
Her faith was the foundation of her strength and she was deeply devoted to the Greek Orthodox Church. In her later years,she travelled to the Holy Lands visiting monasteries and churches
in the Greek islands.
We are heartbroken, but we know how blessed we were to have such a special mother. She loved her children, grandchildren,nieces and nephews unconditionally, and now joins her husband Takis, who passed away on 29th July 2007.
Her funeral service will be held on Wednesday 18th March 2026, at 12.30pm at St. Mary’s Greek Orthodox Church,22 Trinity Road, London N22 8LB, followed by the burial at New Southgate Cemetery & Crematorium, Brunswick Park Road, New Southgate, N11 1EZ, at 2pm.
We invite family and friends to celebrate Elli’s life with refreshments after at the Cypriot Community Centre,Earlham Grove, Wood Green N22 5HJ.
Instead of flowers, the family request charitable donations in support of the North London Hospice and St. Mary’s Church. A donation box will be available at the church, cemetery and at the wake venue.

Με μεγάλη θλίψη και βαριά καρδιά ανακοινώνουμε τον θάνατο
της αγαπημένης μας μητέρας Έλλης Γεωργίου, η οποία απεβίωσε στο σπίτι της στις 26 Φεβρουαρίου 2026, σε ηλικία 88 ετών.
Καταλείπει τους γιους της Γιώργο, Κυριάκο, Ανδρέα και Πανίκο, τις νύφες της και 9 εγγόνια.
Η Έλλη γεννήθηκε στην Κύπρο, τη Γιαλούσα,στις 18 Ιανουαρίου 1938, και είχε πέντε αδέρφια. Μετανάστευσε στην Αγγλία το 1957, αρχικά ζώντας στο Δυτικό Λονδίνο πριν τελικά εγκατασταθεί στο Βόρειο Λονδίνο.
Η πίστη της ήταν το θεμέλιο της δύναμής της και ήταν βαθιά αφοσιωμένη στην Ελληνορθόδοξη Εκκλησία. Στα τελευταία της χρόνια, ταξίδεψε στους Αγίους Τόπους επισκεπτόμενη μοναστήρια και εκκλησίες στα ελληνικά νησιά.
Είμαστε συντετριμμένοι, αλλά γνωρίζουμε πόσο ευλογημένοι ήμασταν που είχαμε μια τόσο ξεχωριστή μητέρα. Αγαπούσε τα παιδιά, τα εγγόνια, τις ανιψιές και τους ανιψιούς της άνευ όρων και τώρα ενώνεται με τον σύζυγό της Τάκη,ο οποίος απεβίωσε στις 29 Ιουλίου 2007.
Η κηδεία της θα τελεστεί την Τετάρτη 18 Μαρτίου 2026, στις 12:30μμ, από τον Καθεδρικό Ναό Κοιμήσεως της Θεοτόκου, 22 Trinity Road, N22 8LB, και θα ακολουθήσει η ταφή στο
New Southgate Cemetery & Crematorium, Brunswick Park Road, New Southgate, N11 1EZ, στις 2μμ.
Προσκαλούμε την οικογένεια και τους φίλους να τιμήσουν τη ζωή της Έλλης μετά την τελετή με ροφήματα στο Κυπριακό Κοινοτικό Κέντρο, Earlham Grove, Wood Green N22 5HJ.
Αντί για λουλούδια, η οικογένεια επιθυμεί να γίνουν φιλανθρωπικές δωρεές για την υποστήριξη του North London Hospice και της Εκκλησίας St. Mary’s. Θα υπάρχει διαθέσιμο κουτί εισφορών
στην εκκλησία, στο νεκροταφείο και στον χώρο της κηδείας.
