Shortly after the theft, £250 was withdrawn from the victim’s bank account.
Earlier the same day, the victim had been approached by the same duo in Enfield.
Officers have appealed for information about two men following last week’s distraction theft.
The victim was asked for directions by a man holding a map, while a second thief took the purse from her handbag, in the back seat of her car.
It happened as she was parked in a driveway in The Walk last Monday at around 3pm.
The thieves walked off in the direction of the High Street.
PC Paul Francis, investigating, said: “Prior to the incident in Potters Bar, at around 12pm, the same man with the map had approached the victim asking for directions in the car park of the Robin Hood pub, Botany Bay, Enfield.
“The victim had not responded to the man on this occasion.
“I would like to speak with the men pictured in connection with the incident in Potters Bar as they may be able to assist the investigation.
“I would also like to appeal to members of the public in both Enfield and Potters Bar who may have been approached by anyone in similar circumstances to contact me.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact PC Francis on the police non-emergency number 101, quoting crime reference number J3/14/742.
