Brotherhood 1 New Salamis 2

New Salamis struggled in the windswept weather at Whittington Park to get the better of Brotherhood.

The Hood had the wind behind them in the first half with Ismet prodding continuously in midfield, Nicky Rifat commanding in defence and they were always dangerous up front with Aaron Kennedy. New Saĺamis kept tight at the back with their central defence partnership of Chris Xiouris and Ahmet Rifat very solid. But still New Salamis were finding it difficult to settle with the first half ending 0-0.

The second half livened up with the introduction of Harisson Georgiou and with the aid of Luke Procopiou and the experienced Leon Bell started to thrive and broke the ice in the 70th minute with a headed goal from Ahmet Rifat. Before that the Brotherhood keeper Dimitri Melaissi pulled off two great saves from Nico Muir.

A heavy fall of sleet stopped the game for 10 minutes then resumed soon after with a second goal for the reds coming from a long distance shot from Leon Bell,

Brotherhood reduced the score to 2-1 and final score with a Chris Antoni goal.
