A joint day of action by Barnet Council and the Metropolitan Police Service has delivered a range of enforcement outcomes as part of efforts to tackle anti-social behaviour, environmental crime, Blue Badge misuse and other community safety concerns.

A joint day of action by Barnet Council and the Metropolitan Police Service last week, has targeted fly-tippers and Blue Badge fraudsters as part of efforts to tackle anti-social behaviour, environmental crime and other community safety concerns.
The operation brought together Barnet Council’s Community Safety Team (CST), Corporate Anti-Fraud Team (CAFT) and Parking Services alongside Metropolitan Police officers for high-visibility patrols across Hendon and West Hendon.
During the operation, officers engaged with hundreds of residents and businesses, gathering intelligence about local concerns while carrying out targeted enforcement activity.
Despite challenging weather conditions, teams maintained a visible presence throughout the operation, demonstrating the council and its partners’ shared commitment to keeping communities across Barnet safe, clean and welcoming.
Results from the day included:
10 fly-tips identified and investigatedTwo fly-posting offences identified27 Blue Badges checked, with two seized18 Penalty Charge Notices issuedOne arrest of an individual wanted by the courts and found in possession of cannabis and stop-and-search outcomes linked to cannabis possessionReports submitted for graffiti removal and highway damageSignificant intelligence gathered through engagement with residents, businesses and partner agencies
Barnet Council Leader, Cllr Barry Rawlings, said:
“Our residents rightly expect us to take action against the issues that can have a real impact on their neighbourhoods, from anti-social behaviour and fly-tipping to the fraudulent misuse of Blue Badges.
“I’d like to thank all the officers involved and the residents and businesses who took the time to speak to them and share information.
“We will continue working with our partners to make Barnet a safer, cleaner and more welcoming borough for everyone.”
The operation also provided council and police teams with an opportunity to speak directly with local people about their concerns and gather information to inform future enforcement and community safety activity.
