Kensington Dragons v AEK U14s
Hoping to extend their unbeaten run, AEK travelled to Acton for an early kick off in the Middlesex Cup.
In torrential rain, the conditions were difficult, but it was Kensington who took the game to AEK, starting brightly and racing into a 2 goal lead before AEK could settle. With AEK spurning chance after chance, it seemed luck was not on their side. With a few minutes to go in the first half, AEK made their breakthrough with Tristan popping up with a nice finish to end the half 2-1 to Kensington.
A change in formation and with purpose and renewed vigour, AEK came out fighting and with Tristan moving up front, he managed to end off an impressive move to equalise before showing the defenders a clean set of heels, grabbing his hat-trick with a great finish past the Kensington keeper to put AEK 3-2 up early on in the second half.
From there on in it was one way traffic and with AEK on the ascendancy and the gulf in class telling, they started dictating the play.
Savva then grabbed AEK’s fourth with a superb long range left footed finish, before Michael extended the lead with 2 great goals in succession and the pacy Angel scoring with another top class finish to round off a terrific AEK performance winning 7-2.
Goals – Tristan (3), Michael (2), Savva, Angel
MOM – Tristan, worked hard with an accomplished performance showing his pace and finishing prowess.
