A flight from Leeds to Cyprus was forced to land at Manchester Airport on Wednesday afternoon after reports that a passenger ‘became aggressive towards other travellers and crew’.
According to the UK tabloid Daily Mail, the Jet2.com plane was headed to Larnaca from Leeds Bradford Airport when it was diverted to Manchester shortly after takeoff.
Police met the aircraft and escorted a 21-year-old man from the plane before handing him over to the Greater Manchester Police. There were no reports or suggestions of terrorism and the plane was unable to return to Leeds Bradford because it was too heavy with fuel.
