AKEL in Cyprus seeks public views

Main opposition AKEL has launched a webpage to enable supporters and others to provide their party with their views.

“AKEL’s central committee has decided to enable friends, party voters, and members of the public in general who want to convey their positions, to do so through this page,” (in Greek language) the party said.

The party said members who for various reasons could not take part in discussions of their party group could also participate.

The party urged people who want to contribute to the discussion to forward the webpage to others.

“Your view counts.”

The procedure ends on June 25.

The party was down to 16 seats – from 19 — following the May 22 elections, which saw it lose 7.1 per cent of its support – down to 25.7 per cent from 32.7 per cent in 2011.
