THREE candidates are battling it out for victory in next week’s council by-election in the Brunswick Park ward.
Hendon resident Andreas Ioannidis is standing for the Labour Party and is up against Yahaya Dumba Kiingi, from Edgware, who is representing the Liberal Democrats, and Conservative candidate Shaheen Kauser Mahmood, who lives in Southgate.
The by-election has been called
following the death in April of
former Conservative council leader Lynne Hillan, who lost a lengthy battle with cancer.
Residents will get their chance to go to the polls between 7am and 10pm– less than a month after the elections for Mayor of London and the London Assembly.
The winner will join last year’s mayor Lisa Rutter and her fellow Conservative Andreas Tambourides as the third councillor for Brunswick Park.
