Pambos Christodoulou’s first game back as AEL boss didn’t go quite as planned as his team lost 2-0 to local rivals Apollon in the first leg of the Coca Cola cup semi final.
At Limassol’s Tsirion Stadium – home to both teams Apollon took the lead with nine minutes remaining with a header from Abraham. Two minutes later Sieon scored to make it 2-0.
In the other first leg Apoel drew with Aris 1-1. Aris took a 16th minute lead with Randi two minutes later Apoel equalised with a penalty goal scored by Caveraki.
