Trident detectives are appealing for witnesses and information after a man was threatened and a shot fired in New Southgate.
At around 20:30hrs on Sunday, 25 June, the victim, a man aged 18, was driving down the A404 at Bounds Green in a black Vauxhall Astra.
He stopped at traffic lights near the BP garage where there was an altercation with another vehicle (no further description at this stage) which attempted to block and stop the victim’s car.
The victim managed to drive off and the suspect vehicle followed, forcing the victim to stop in Shakespeare Avenue, N11.
Two men approached the vehicle and threatened the victim with a handgun, forcing him to hand over a quantity of cash. A shot was then fired, which grazed the victim’s neck, before the suspects made off.
Police were called and the victim treated by the London Ambulance Service. He did not need to attend hospital.
A 22-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday, 27 June, on suspicion of possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life. He was subsequently released under investigation pending further enquiries.
Any witnesses or anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 or via @MetCC or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
