Detectives investigating two linked reports of sexual assault on buses in Enfield, are appealing for the victim of one of the incidents to come forward.

Detectives from the Roads and Transport Policing Command, have released a CCTV image of a man they need help identifying in connection with the incidents.

The first assault occurred on 9 December 2015 at about 08:15hrs, on a Route 232 bus travelling from Tottenhall Road, N13 to Turnpike Lane, N22.

The suspect boarded at Berkshire Gardens, N13 and stood very close to the victim – a 12-year-old girl – making her feel uncomfortable; so she moved away from him. The suspect then moved closer and began to touch her arm before touching her elsewhere. She moved away again and later got off the bus on Nightingale Road, N22; she reported the incident to police later that day.

The suspect remained on the bus and went on to sexually assault two other 12-year-old girls travelling on the same bus.

On Tuesday, 5 January at about 16:10hrs, on a Route 279 bus travelling in Ponders End, N9, a passenger witnessed a man sexually assaulting a young woman, who was travelling with a young child. The witness reported what they had seen to police.

Police would like to speak with the woman who was assaulted. She is described as white, with brown hair, which she wore in a bun. She was wearing a long white lanyard – showing an ID pass – around her neck. She boarded the bus in Ponders End, N9 at about 16:15hrs and got of at the next stop.

Detectives are treating the incidents as linked and believe that both assaults were carried out by the same man.

The suspect is described as a white man, with very short dark hair, of medium build and unshaven.
