Police are appealing for witnesses and information following a burglary in Cheshunt.
The incident occurred at a property in Windmill Lane between 2.30pm and 3.30pm on May 10.
Between these times the offender(s) forced entry to the property and stole several items of jewellery and cash.
Acting Detective Sergeant Grant Bennett said: “The victims have understandably been left very upset by what has happened as the jewellery was of huge sentimental value to them.
“A suitcase was also found to have been taken and it is believed it may have been used to carry the jewellery from the property.
“The address is between the train station and the town centre and is usually busy so there may have been a number of people in the area at the time of the incident. I am appealing for any witnesses or anyone who may have noticed something suspicious to please get in touch.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact A/DS Bennett at Hoddesdon Police Station via the non-emergency number 101, quoting crime reference K2/16/1760.
