– Celtic manager Neil Lennon has left the club after four years in charge during which he won three Scottish titles, he said on Thursday.
Former player Henrik Larsson, currently manager of Swedish club Falkenburgs, is favourite to replace him.
“I have parted company with Celtic,” the 42-year-old Lennon said in a brief statement on the BBC website.
“The club are in a very strong position and I wish the fans and the club all the very best for the future.”
Lennon, the former Celtic captain and northern Ireland international, took charge in 2010 and won a hat-trick of league titles and two Scottish Cups.
The club have not made an official comment.
