Hereford failed to make up ground on fellow strugglers Barnet as the two sides shared the spoils at Underhill.
Delroy Facey’s drive into the top left corner from Ben Purkiss’s pass put the visitors ahead.
Izale McLeod set up Ben May, whose low shot into the bottom corner drew Barnet level 20 minutes later.
Hereford move above Macclesfield and off the bottom of the table, but remain three points adrift of 22nd-placed Barnet with three games remaining.
