Barnet Council keeps residents safe during Storm Doris

The high winds, which affected many parts of the UK, have caused damage to property across Barnet. The council had five teams out working to clear fallen trees. Cherry Tree Wood had been locked as a precaution but all of Barnet’s other parks currently remained open.

Councillor Dean Cohen, Chairman of Barnet Council’s Environment Committee, said: “I’d like to offer my thanks to the staff involved in today’s response for their swift action.

Whilst there’s nothing we can do about instances of freak weather, I’m pleased we’ve been able to keep residents safe.”

The council will have teams on standby if Storm Doris continues.

Residents are asked to ensure any loose items in their gardens are secured or brought inside. Hazards obstructing roads, including fallen trees, can be reported by calling 020 8359 2000
